Welcome!

The SKSS Visual Arts Department believes that the quality of a student’s life is uniquely enriched in essential ways by the development of skills and values learned in the creation of artworks. Kamloops - A Sense of Place 2013 Art Calendars

Calendar cover artwork created by Christina Reilly

This year, we proudly bring to print, our seventh annual calendar. For this publication, we chose to celebrate the idea of “Place” and identify how, as individuals, we are all shaped and enriched by our surroundings. Our art students were encouraged to look at the landmarks and geography of Kamloops and identify how those features help define us. As the seasons change, and the years pass, our interaction with the local environment grows and changes. The wide variety of styles and colour palettes seen in this calendar reflect the diversity and creativity of our students. The compelling nature of the images reflect the rich connections our students have with the Kamloops landscape.

Proceeds from the sale of the calendars will go toward the Creating Tomorrow Fund, and the SKSS Fine Arts Department for future art initiatives. Calendars and card are available at the Kamloops Museum and Archives, The Gallery Store at the Kamloops Art Gallery and the
SKSS Main office on Munro Street.
